WV Trial Lawyers Say Legal Fairness Ads are Misleading
The West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association says ads run by the Institute for Legal Reform are misleading and violate FCC guidelines because they mention figures from a discredited report. The group began running ads in radio and newspaper after releasing the 2006 State Liability Systems Ranking Study, which found that WV courts are among the least fair in the country. The WVTLA argues that the figures used have been discredited by several independent sources and is also now denied by the same organization that released it.
