Army Corps of Engineers Sued Over Damage Caused by Channel

Five residents of New Orleans have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for ignoring warnings that a shipping channel they built could cause severe damage. Hurricane Katrina caused a storm surge that traveled up the channel and overwhelmed levees causing severe flood damage. The group has admitted that the channel contributed to the flood and wants to build flood gates to prevent another catastrophe.
