Bad Faith: Use of Aftermarket Parts by Insurers is Focus of Debate

Aftermarket parts are not made by the original car maker but are typically cheaper and therefore reduce the cost of car repairs. Insurance companies like them but many body shops believe the parts are often inferior, don't fit correctly, or are unsafe. State laws governing the use of these parts vary and some states allow their use without the consumer's knowledge or consent.
