
Officials at UC San Francisco offered to transplant organs they had matched to 25 Kaiser patients. However, Kaiser would not authorize the transplants and did not tell the patients that they were declined. These organs could have given patients a better chance of survival and now they may have to wait a long time before they get another opportunity.
